I've used it for some time on > most of my guns, along with the occassional use in the house and on the cars > (spraying it on the window lift motor in the xj-s). Personally, I would never use WD-40 on a gun; they're not only too expensive, but the consequences of failure can be disastrous. I use Remington Rem Oil, which is also a spray can. Leading to the obvious question: maybe Remington Rem Oil would be a good substance to be spraying into those cylinders prior to storage! The can says it contains Teflon; not sure if that would hurt anything here. It says "Superior for cleaning, lubrication and corrosion protection of fine sporting firearms as verified with the salt-fog exposure test (reference: MIL-C-16173D Grade 3). Long lasting lubrication for smooth, reliable gun functioning under all weather conditions... Excellent for all outdoor sports equipment -- fishing tackle, boats and motors, bicycles, tools, camping equipment." -- Kirbert | If anything is to be accomplished, | some rules must be broken. | - Palm's Postulate
