Hi,
I think I have exactlty the same ECU. My Jag is a 1981 XJ12S3 also built
to european specs (I live in Germany). The ECU is also one of the first
digital P-type ones. Actually I also have cold start problems and my
suggestion is to send the ECU to Roger Bywater AJ6 Engineering in England,
who has the
circuit diagrams and the program code stored  in the ECU. I can not
remember the prices for the repairs, but as far as I remember they are
quit low for such a specialized servive. I am also going to send him mine.
