One of the options then was a 6.0 litre engine. When Jaguar Sport officially started producing the XJR-S in 1988 only a 5.3 litre engine was available. It was not until mid-89 that the 6.0 litre was introduced as standard. This was then discontinued in 1993 as by then the standard XJ-S now had a 6.0 litre engine. If you had 73,000 dollars to spend in 1993 you could have bought one of the 50 XJR-S coupes exported to North America that year. Another 80,100 dollars would have bought you one of 50 XJR-S convertibles for the sunnier days. One day, maybe, I can dream! I'm not sure about the US market, but the 6.0L was an option and comes with the reprogrammed GM 400 auto (modified shift points).
