XJ12 vapor lock? i.e. Frustration.



Are you sure its vapour lock?

You say you just added electronic ignition and that the problem is less in
cooler weather.

Maybe the ignition was not designed to fire a 12 cylinder engine.  There are
more pulses per minute on a twelve than on an eight and electronics need
time to recover for the next spark.  If the ignition system was designed for
a eight to rev to about 7,000 rpm it might cut out at 4,500 rpm on a twelve.  

The higher when cooler symptom would support this also.
