Those who like XJ-S' should be pleased that more of them will be on the market. Those who prefer the XK-8 will demonstrate that, with their money. Personally, I love the new look. I admire the fact that Jag went to a V8, and DIDN'T use Fords modular V8. It takes guts to put out a new engine and a new car at the same time. I've ogled the car in pics, and in person. Sat in both the coupe and convertible. Played with the wooden wheel (OK - that I don't like) Didn't get to drive one, though -- I must look poor. I just re-read an older Road and Track this morning, with letters to the editor demoaning the styling of the new Porsche Boxster. It seems to be a common thread -- those with the older models commenting on the poor styling, wrong engine configuration, etc,. etc of the new models. I can only imagine the negative comments that would have been made about the E type by XK120-150 fans, back in 1961!! Fact is, most of us could not afford an XK-8 anyway, but if I won the Lotto, I'd definetly want one...... then again, given a really big win, might have to go A-M DB-7, or (sacrilege!!) Ferrari 550! Funny thing -- some letters about the Ferrari critisize the looks of that new model too. Mike Everatt 1987 XJ40 ---------- > From: Victor Naumann <jagdoc@erols.com> > To: John T.
