Definately not cheap to > > fix in a Jag > > Regards Murray Sounds like galvanic corrosion to me if its in an area that adjoinds a cast iron part. At least on my XJ6C, the water pump is cast iron. Pump cavitation has been known to do this sort of damage to pumps but this usually occurs on very serious industrial pumps (like that on hydro generators). I am familiar with that phenomenon occuring but it comes from some very violent turbulent vaporization and condensation of the water in the suction side of the pump. I have a hard time imagining it here but hey, I certainly haven't seen it all yet ! I have never heard of this problem on a XJ6 though. Kind Regards, Jim Cantrell Follow-Ups:
