The XK8

I have seen both the open top version and the covered top version on the
streets. The open top version looks great, especially when the top is down
(but you have to be a tough person to continue driving an open top in
Winter). I completely agree with a Hawaiian member of this list on this
point. However, the covered top version is another story. It looks like a
coupe version of the Mazda Lantis. Honestly, when I saw it the other day, I
was wondering whether Mazda had done some face lift to their 626 coupe --
until it hit me that it was an XK8.

Now for those of you who haven't heard of a Mazda Lantis -- this is a high
end Mazda 323 (or a low end 626; the chassis is from the 323 the engine is
the same V6 as the 626) that came out about three years ago and has tail
lights that the XK8's eerily resembles. I hate to even imagine it, but
maybe it's the Ford family connection.
