I had a similar problem on my '83 XJ6 when I first acquired - which had not been
mentained very well by any stretch.  After a complete tuneup (in which I used 
Bosch Platinum spark plugs), the rough idling still existed.  On the following
two fillups, I added fuel injector cleaner to the gas tanks and... no more rough
idling.

Hi all,
The XJ6 is running a little rough, I've changed the plugs, I went one
grade hotter on NGK (5 to 6) and it made a small difference while cold,
but it still is rough enough to cause a small amount of vibration at
idle. The old plugs had a slight yellow tinge ( but were in good
condition). Any suggestions as to what I should check next ?
