[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: S2 XJ6 wipers, AC and indicators gone mad
Jacques, Don't dismiss the fusebox quite so soon. Note that I said "fusebox" rather than "fuses." The S2 fusebox can be the source of a variety of seemingly unrelated electrical failures, thanks to an interesting design. Several circuits are supplied by one wire from the battery in some cases. Electricity is supplied to adjacent fuse sockets through the ends of the fuses themselves. Corrosion can be a killer here. Be sure all of your sockets and the ends of your fuses--particularly the ends on the "supply side," are clean. I had a glitch involving my A/C and wipers a while back that was caused by this. I found it only after taking apart half of the car's interior to check out the switches and A/C relay--thanks to a tip from this list. (Thanks again!) You really don't want to do this if you don't have to. There should be a post about it in the archives. Hope this helps. Larry Lee Auburn, AL, USA 1979 XJ4.2, SII Follow-Ups:
