[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: [XK Engine] SIII XJ6 Fuel Injector Seals
David and others: I found the Beck-Arnley injector seals you mention at two different foreign auto parts shops here in the Detroit area. The kit included the small, square-sectioned seal between the injector tip and plastic cup, as well as the large rubber washer which I believe isolate the clicking injector from the rest of the engine. I could not, however, find the small 9/16" o.d., 1/16" thick o-ring which fits around the outside of the plastic cup at the tip of the injector. I was told by the a local Jaguar specialist that any o-ring is impervious to fuel. I have proved this by soaking said o-ring (purchased from my local hardware store) in a cup of fuel for a week. So far no problems. The last bit that was in the Beck-Arnley kit was the tiny (nylon?) mesh filter that fits into the top of the injector fuel inlet. This is a neat design. However, since the filter has a brass collar at the top, it looks like it is a press fit into the inlet of the injector. I don't have the courage to pry the old ones out of my injectors, for fear of breaking the inlet nipple of of the injector. Any tips for removing the fuel injector screens? Maybe Michael Neal? B.J.
