I went through FOUR new diffs on my XJ-S V12 last year, the first one I paid for, the other three were replaced under warranty. Each one that failed had been installed incorrectly. Two with overtightened pinion nut, one without correct oil, grinding the limited slip clutches to death. Funnily enough, two Jag main dealers were involved and they made different mistakes - albeit consistently. I have had experiences with two other main dealers as well. One overheated the car after bodging an a/c repair, the other messed up a water pump replacement. Now I only go to a main dealer for parts, and only if I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T get them elsewhere. The lack of care and training seems to be pretty consistent everywhere. Regards, -- Stefan Schulz jaguar@suaviter.demon.co.uk Follow-Ups:
