This is a feature on the Renualt 19 I used to have and the Renault 11
my wife has now.  The oil pressure guage shows oil level when you 
first turn the ignition on.  Then, after starting, shows oil pressure.

Neat gizzmo, and my wife's Renault 11 is 1984 vintage.  I have the
Haynes manual for it and will try to find out how it is implemented.
