I wasn't the one that called you on it, but that's only because someone
beat me to it. :>

Yes, all US cars from '70 on should have an emissions mantainance sticker
under the hood. Lots of stuff on this sticker, engine type, specific
emissions related equipment, and specs for all applicable adjustments (
common "tune-up" specs). The key word here is applicable adjustments. When
something like idle speed, ignition timing, or valve adjustment is not
adjustable, the stick should note this. Some manufactorers give the
number and note it's not adjustable. Some say "refer to service manual". 
Others, XJ40 included, just say "not adjustable".

The S III, having adjustments for everything, will have the specs on
the sticker (assuming the sticker is still there). The XJ40, having
computer controlled idle, timing, and closed-loop CO, will have a
sticker full of "not adjustable".
