>How brief is brief. On hard cornering my light has come on for fifteen >seconds while the gauge hovers around zero Mark, If your oil preasure ligh comes on due to hard cornering, some how, the oil is not getting to the pick-up point for the oil pump. In my case, this always has been due to low oil level. >While we're on the subject, what about oil additives and synthetics? What >does everyone use? Regarding synthetics, they are superior* for lubrication than refined oils. However, synthetics are not compatible with some materials used for oil seals and gaskets. I had that experiance when using synthetic oil on a 2 year old Chrysler engine (30k miles). Most of the oil started leaking from the valve cover gasket. Since then, I have heard this happening to other people. I have switched back to refined oil. Cheers, Victor. * Synthetics are superior not because they give you better lubrication, but because they last longer, have higher and lower operating temperature, don't break down as easily, and don't burn as readily. However, if the correct grade of refined oil is used, and it is changed regularly, it will give you as good lubrication as a synthetic.
