> >My big question is my 85 XJ6 has electronic fuel injection and there is = >not vacumn advance line on the distributer. What am I missing here? = There's supposed to be a vacuum line. The vacuum can is on the rear of the dizzy, the line runs under the manifold to the back. >Besides the fun of getting at the nut to loosen the distributer. Piece of cake, it's right out in reach. You are going after the pinch bolt, not the plate anchor, correct? >I saw mention in a previous note about a "pressure damper" for the fuel = >rail on an XJ40 to quiet a clicking sound. My XJ6 has this sound and I = >was wondering if the 85 XJ6 also has a pressure damper for the fuel = >rail. If I can resolve this 'ticking' noise my Jag would really be = >quiet indeed. If have already replaced the fuel pressure valve at the = >front of the fuel rail. Not a clicking noise, that's normal. The talk on the XJ40 was a thumping "helicopter" noise from the firewall area, caused by pressure pulses in the fuel pipe running through the car. Clicking injectors are normal. Non-clicking injectors are broken. Just make sure the noise is not a valve. > >Jim Randy K. Wilson randy@taylor.infi.net References:
