There's supposed to be a vacuum line. The vacuum can is on the rear of 
the dizzy, the line runs under the manifold to the back.

Piece of cake, it's right out in reach. You are going after the pinch bolt, 
not the plate anchor, correct?

Not a clicking noise, that's normal. The talk on the XJ40 was a thumping
"helicopter" noise from the firewall area, caused by pressure pulses 
in the fuel pipe running through the car. Clicking injectors are normal.
Non-clicking injectors are broken. Just make sure the noise is not
a valve.
