I've been married for 28 years to Kathy, who is VERY patient. She has a great sense of humor in general, but about my bad car habits in particular. She will opt to drive the right hand drive Morris Minor (license plate E FUDD) even when her Jag is running. She was driving the Minor not long after we bought it and the brakes went out as she was approaching a stop light. She drove the car up on the concrete median, which miraculously stopped the car without doing anything more than cosmetic damage to the underside. I don't even want to know how she got off of this median she was straddling. She then proceeded to drive the car five miles back home! I asked if she used the handbrake to stop. She said "Gee, I never thought of that. I just went real slow and stayed close to the curb." She always brings 'em home. The Minor now has disk brakes and a new master cylinder.
