The fuel inlet hose, pipe to fuel rail, and it's accompanying viton seal, the green olive. The old part numbers are CBC2581 and CBC4720. I'm pretty sure there have been updates to the hose. > Also, besides a knock (kind of like a muffled helicopter noise) >from the rail when the car is warmed up and idle, does this faulty >valve effect the car any other way? the car doesn't have a >ultra-smooth idle, can this piece cause a slightly rough idle when it >goes bad, or does it just make an annoying noise I hear when the radio >is off? > The noise is injector induced pressure pulses in the hard fuel line running under the forward cabin. The failure is the pressure damper built in to the hose. It's not that it creates a noise when it fails, rather it quits dampening out the noise when it fails. No other symptoms or problems. The rough idle is a seperate issue, and should be addressed. The XJ40 engine management system is sophisticated enough that it can cover/mask a lot of problems. These engines can run quite smoothly with some pretty drastic problems. Blown out intake gaskets are common. >Thanks in advance for any info! Randy K. Wilson randy@taylor.infi.net References:
