[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] door locks - ghost in the machine
The other day my 1991 XJS exhibited signs of independent life. I went to lock the door after exiting (with the key of course) expecting to hear the usual rather loud thudding noise of the passenger door and boot-lid solenoid closing the locks. Instead, all three solenoids went rapidly from lock to unlock for about ten seconds, even after I removed the key from the barrel !! This wouldn't stop until I replaced the key in the lock and forced it to stop oscillating. I almost expected it to blink it's lights, start up, and drive away without me. .....weird.
