Gap is .002 in To set base idle on XJ 40, have engine warmed up, turn off 1 Key on, then disconnect idle air control ,between 2 and 3 cyl. at injector rail, then Key off,reconnect 2 Key on, disconnect, key off, reconnect 3 Key on , disconnect, Key off 4 Key on ,start engine , set idle to between 650 -750 rpm with screw 5 Key off, reconnect idle air control 6 start car let idle settle, should be between 650 and 800 depending on temp. Computer controls the speed now Your TPS must also be set correctly first Regards, Vic References:
