I seem to remember that it doesn't.  I'll take a look at our car when I
leave work tonight. As you may recall, our car originally left Coventry as
an XJ-6, before the engine fire and subsequent V-12 H.E. metamorphosis.

Yes it would fit.  I'm not sure if the factory SIII XJ-12s came with rear
bars, but I can find out.  I know that the SI/SII V-12 sedans did not. 
Our SIII car has one because it seemed to be the smart thing to do when we
were building it.

Yes I think that many XJ-6 owners would like a rear bar.  Our car handles
pretty well, and is made of all production Jaguar parts from one year or
another.  The rear bar, trailing arms and mounting hardware came from a
1979 XJ-S.  The rest of the rear suspension is from an '88 XJ-S.
