[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Head Milling, Cruise Seal, Emissions Test, etc.
RE: what did you use to seal the bellows with. I sealed the bellows with silicone adhesive. Its durable, flexible, and inexpensive. Time will tell. RE: Since you said "heads", I have to assume a V-12. I'm very curious about how the dealer arrived at this conclusion. the implication here is one head was machined a lot more than the other, raising the compression on that bank. Sorry, head not heads. I don't know why it was machined but I will try to find out. The idle problem seems to vary; sometimes it is quite bad and at others it's acceptable. Since I had the car retested for emissions and still didn't pass (CO=2.5, down from 3.0) I'm beginning to wonder if the idle problem is related. Fuel mileage is OK (19-21 mpg highway) and driving performance is good at both low and high speed. I know the dealer is going to say toss the Bosch plugs and I guess that's a relatively inexpensive option. I just don't think that's the primary problem. Any ideas? Mark Revels 85 XJ6 Follow-Ups:
