I resemble that remark!! Actually I'd give more credence to the guy who actually works on the actual cars. And of course possesses a great amount of savvy. We were talking about real world applications... right? BTW if you _ever_ walk into a shop and hear any one of the technicians say "I'll get'er outta there boss but I won't guarantee I can get'er back in there" .... RUN!!! > Anyway books aren't credentials or qualifications they are just bits > of paper with the correct facts written on them. We hope. > But wouldn't it actually be best to have scoops to force air into the > top of the engine compartment and vents to let it out again at the > back? Or even remove the bonnet altogether? It's a nice enough looking > engine. why not just add a scoop with the inlet towards the windshield directly in front of the windshield where there is a small reversion in air flow? Or better yet why not rig some type of forced air (i.e. fan ducted) assembly to route air into the engine compartment at high velocity and volume, and just let it escape where it will? the underside of the car has lots of roomy space to vent some serious airflow. For even more underhood temp reduction you could rig a radiator at the rear of the car using the boot as a compartment for a second radiator. This radiator would be used to remove the heat from the water cooled exhaust manifolds retrofitted from a marine application. A bypass valve that allows water to mingle from the two cooling systems could even assist in faster cold weather warmups. The possibilities are limitless. Tim
