Rear Window Chrome StripI have a 1956 xk140 and need the chrome strip around the rear window. Anybody have any ideas as to where I might acquire this? Thanks. Kenny Walker Hi, Kenny (or "Walks" if you prefer) - I presume you have a roadster (Open Two Seater or OTS), with side curtains and no roll-up windows. If so, you might try Welsh Enterprises, Steubenville, Ohio, or XKs Unlimited, San Luis Obispo, CA (both on the Web - need to search). Replica/replacement parts should be avalable. Moss Motors in CA somewheres is another possibility. Also, check Jaguar parts in Hemmings Motor News. Best of luck and Good Hunting! Larry Schear Twin Cam, Inc. Kenny Try the breaking-up ads in the various Jaguar Club Magazines. I found several obscure parts through the ads in "Jaguar Enthusiast". Good hunting Klaus Nielsen 140FHC Kenny, British Auto, Manchester NH, (800)452-4787 advertizes the XK-140 OTS rear window frame for $165 (my catalog is old so it could be more now). I don't see FHC or DHC rear window frames. Mike Carpenter I had a long hard task finding a rear window chrome surround for my 150 FHC. It took me 4 years to track a decent one down and I tried here in New Zealand, Australia, UK, Europe, US etc. I was offered a bent one for US$1500 !! but declined. Eventually I obtained one at a reasonable price from Fred Petroske (fax 315-649-4100). He may have a 140 chrome strip. Also try Coventry Auto Components in the UK (fax 01203- 421123). Make sure that the strip is not distorted as it will make fitting a nightmare. Good luck. Roger Herrick Bill Tracy in Florida, 941-924-9523 has the chrome frames and hardware for the roadster top for $205, and the DHC rear window for $299. Give him a try. Larry J, 51 XK120 660636 I do have a source for new rear window chrome for the XK140 Coupe. The price is $469.00. It takes approx 10 days for me to get this from my UK supplier. Best Regards, Hal Hal Rogers H.D. Rogers & Sons I have an XK150 OTS and need the chrome brackets on the top of the boot (in front of the boot lid) that hold down the rear of the convertible top. Does anyone know where I can obtain these? The originals broke because there was too much tension in the convertible top. Thanks, Jeff Koch Jeff, the tear drop attachments are I believe readily obtainable from the usual sources. Regards, John Elmgreen.
