Generators for 140's and MK VII'sTo the Lucas Experts..... What is the correct generator for a '56 XK 140? Likewise, what is the correct generator for a '54 MK VII please? - John Morgan XK140 - generator was C 5433, Lucas 22462/B-C.45/PVS/5. Same throughout for all 140s. This seems to be same as the later 120s, although there is some discrepancy in the part nos. Mk VII was the same as the contemporary 120s, Lucas 22429F/H 1950-52 and Lucas 22462B 1953-54. - John Elmgreen It will depend on whether it is a 2.4 or a 3.4 L engine. The 2.4 has a C.45. P-5 and the 3.4 has a C.45 PVS-5. - Robin Cooper Early XK140 use LUCAS type GC51 generators, exact model is 22462/B - C45PVS/5. Later, XK140 used the same, but very minor variation model 22462/D, then 22462/E. The /E suffix dosn't continue the use of a Cover Band. /B, /D and /E are 100% interchangeable. This LUCAS supply does not include specific Jaguar sourced Pulley (C.7427) or Fan (C.7428) Early Mark 7 (up to engine # A8126) use LUCAS type G.86 (model 22429/F - C45PV/S), and after Engine # A8127 and subsequent, use the same as XK140 (22462/B - C45PVS/5). The differences appear to be in both end brackets, commutator end and pulley end, and the two fixing bolts. Early Mark 7 had a different Pulley and Fan, however from Engine # B2917 on, the Pulley and Fan are now the same as XK140. - Roger Payne
