Replacing XK150 brake master

Replacing XK150 Brake Master

Can anyone reccomend a good master-cylinder replacement for an xk-150
missing the original cylinder as well as the servo-assist? It has disc not
drums. My friend is restoring it and is more concerned about driving it
right now than an OEM. Thanks. - Dionys Murphy

As a suggestion, why not buy an original master cylinder now and make up
new inlet/outlet lines to the reservoir and the 3-4 way union on the frame?
If you get an orginal master cylinder you can bolt it up without any
difficulty. Sources? Bill Tracy, et al. Price? Say $135. During the early
'70s I drove a 150 OTS without a servo. Of course, it required a little
more pedal pressure but it wasn't a problem. This car was equipped with
disc brakes. I can't speak to a drum brake car issue. Later I would secure
a vacuum-servo assist unit. Used ones are obtainable but rebuilding costs
are now very high. Terry's Jaguars offers an after market for the 150. -
