Brake Lines
A side bar regarding brakes. My brake lines from the resevoir to the master cylinder each have a 3" section of rubber hose. I couldn't imagine them being original and commented as such to an associate. They remarked that the hose clamps appeared so old that maybe they were, and that the hoses could have acted like a "shock absorber" between the frame and body. I couldn't see any pictures in Porter, etc, that illustrated this. What do I have here? Another PO bandaid? - Awaiting the roar, Doug Zaletel Doug, Your brake lines are original! I believe that they have an old fashion clamp on them. The clamps have a galvanised finish on them, I believe. If you find a screw type clamp, then more modern ones have substituted for the originals. If you have a tandem master cylinder, then of course you have two lines with rubber hoses.
