XK-Lovers is an international network of Jaguar XK model automotive owners and enthusiasts dedicated to enjoying and maintaining the breed. Jaguar XK models were in production from 1948 to 1961 and include the XK120, XK140, XK150, C-type, D-type, and XKSS.

We discuss various topics such as the daily dramas of owning the things, car maintenance, restoration, racing and such. Together, we provide an informal support system which ranges from sharing technical information and locating spare parts (or even whole cars) to swapping tales of adventure and daring-do.

The scope of this group is simple; discussion is open to any subject involving Jaguar XK automobiles. There are over 200 folks are on the list, not all of them owning Jaguars, some wanting to get information before they make the plunge, others simply admirers of the marque.

The XK list formed as an offshoot of the 'jag-lovers' mail list by members who wished to focus discussion on the XK models. Of course many members of the list own other models of Jaguars as well. Due to rapid membership growth, jag-lovers split into several groups, XK being only one of them. For more details please refer to Jag-Lovers.

To Subscribe or Unsubscribe

Manually: Send an e-mail message to majordomo@jag-lovers.org with subscribe xk or unsubscribe xk in the body of the message. Do not add anything else to the body of the message. Anything in the subject line is ignored. The server will respond within 30 minutes with an "info" message. How long it takes to get to you depends on many factors beyond my control.

These rules are for everyones benefit. Please don't be scared off by them, new members are very welcome.
  • Be assured that you are among friends here. It helps everyone if you relate both where things went wrong as well as where things go right when working on your Jaguar. We all learn from it.
  • Please, no incivility, insults, flames, general bickering or sniping. We're all trying real hard to be mature adults.
  • Commercial abuse of the list is not allowed. If you are a private individual and have something of interest for sale, by all means post it...some of these things are hard to find. If you own a business, please post your name, address, phone number, URL, and etc. NO ADVERTISEMENTS. Vendors are more than welcome to participate, however these lists are non commercial, if someone asks specifically "where can I get..." you are welcome to respond DIRECTLY do not send it to the list. If this is a particularly impossible to get hold of widget it would be acceptable to write a one line note saying "We have it in stock, contact me offline" so that others are aware there is now a source. If in doubt err on the side of caution...
  • Often some of the postings to xk's make great material for local club newsletters. This practice is encouraged and helps advertise the utility of the net. However, don't assume that you have the author's permission to copy his or her material. The informal rule we go by is that if you want to include anything off the xk list in a local club newsletter, first get the author's permission and offer to send a copy of the issue in which the article appears.
  • If you infringe the rules you will be sin-binned for a time appropriate to the offence. Sinbinning means loss of rights to post for a limited time - you will still be able to receive your digest or XK emails. Repeated offences will see the offender removed from the list totally.
  • Please do not post offline emails online without permission of the poster - The publication of a private email on a public forum without the permission of the writer is generally considered bad form.
  • Please avoid excessively long tag lines - restrain these to 4 lines.
  • This list thrives on humor it's a good idea to make use of the emoticon - :-) - it indicates I'm kidding around - We can't see you smile at the other end of an email so insert some characters in there to let us know.
