This is related to the rear transmission mount. Either your transmission mount spring is collapsing and needs replacement, or the mount is incorrectly assembled. If the problem began after the shop worked on your car, incorrect assembly is most likely. Pay particular attention to the two spacers on the bolts that attach the mount to the car body. They are supposed to go between the mount and the car body, but every logical bone in a mechanic's body will tell him that is wrong, so he will be tempted to put them onto the bolts as if they were washers. If that happens, the mount will be positioned so that the driveshaft rubs on something under hard acceleration. There are a few other things about rear mount assembly that can cause the rubbing / grinding. See the picture / text in Kirby's book for more information.
