[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [xj-s] vibrating blower motor
Kirby, ME's and group, for the past couple of weeks I have been figuring out how do a complete rebuild on the blower motors. I found some decent Siemens blower motors at the local auto parts store ~$40, new power transistor ~$2.00 at Allied Electronics, relays ~$5.00 (qty 20) from Hal Rogers, The motor was a bit oversized so I had to get the brackets worked on at a friend's machine shop. I also used new grommets (3 stacked) to replace the rubber mounts on the brackets, and new rubber between the motor and bracket. After mounting the motors in the blower housings and powering up, one works very well, the other vibrates noticeably. There are metal clips for balancing, on the blade (squirrel cage) of the motor that doesn't vibrate. I need to put clips on the other fan blade. How does one figure out at what position/s they should go? regards, Walter
