[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [xj-s] That Vac system Again
At long last I have sorted outb the Vac advance Plumbing (thanks to all that helped) Now I am left with the problem of the Electrical circuit to it 1) On my Car (88 UK Xj-S 12) There is a circuit which delivers a (-) from the Temp switch via a 15 min timer to the 2 x vac solonoids The wire feeding this comes through the bulkhead(firwall)and to a 3 pin bullet connector, wire coloures are! pink/white, brown/Grey and (black/white which is the (-) going from the Temp switch to the timer. Can anyone tell me where the pink/white and brown/grey come from?(I think I have some sort of problem with the timer as I get(+) on the black/white (with the plug disconnected)(Timer Side) 2) It appears that the earth continues (after triggering the 2 x Vac solonoides) to join another small loom (Pink & Yellow/black) which terminate together ?? at the base of a solonoid, which is linked to a second ajoining solonoid(These two solonoids are part or a cluster of 4 mounted about centre top,of the upper radiator support panel. The 2 solonoids switch to shunt a (-) feed back down to the trigger the Extra air Solonoid. The pink wire going to the relay has an in- line Diode (allowing flow only to the relay) the (+)power to activate one of these two relays comes from a(white) wire which is swiched by the ign,The Neg side is Green/Black and the (=) feed to the second relay is Green/red. Can any one tell me where the Gren /black and the green/red come from what they trigger. I appologise for such a drawn out discription but I have be misled by two local Jag Shops and have spent $1500.00 for the privilage. and it was only the info from list members that advised my of there errors. I cant get a circuit for love of $$$$ for this car in Aus Desperate & Jagless Gerry
