having just ripped the head off the steam engine and cleaned it up, I've noticed a very small gap around the inlet seats. It looks like there has been movement between the seat and the head. The seats do seem firm and correctly positioned now. I had the seats staked when the heads were off in '93, without this I think I would have had multpile seat drops from the 2 or 3 overheating episodes I've had, so there would appear to be some merit in staking as a "belt and braces" addition.
