We are about 75% of the way through a 2 year project of modifying my Jaguar 1985 XJ-S coupe. When I say my Jaguar...I really feel that so many people have contributed to it that it belongs to all of us...My special thanks goes to Bryan, Joe and Jackie Maletsky at MotorCraft in East Rutherford NJ. In brief, I am trying to build the XJ-S all the way out to super-car performance. Here is the list of the modifications that are in the works now. We hope to have the whole car on the road in 2 months. If any of you have experiences with any of these modifications I would like to hear from you... 1985 XJ-S V-12 Jaguar Coupe Modifications (Front of to back) • Pusher fan (Spal) • All aluminum custom radiator (BeCool) • Fluid to oil custom oil cooler (BeCool) • Engine: (Hesco, Lee Hurley) Late-style V-12 Block stroked to 6 Liters. HE Type Heads (Small Plug) heads, flowed & modified with European Valves. GT Stage 1 cams (also valve springs, guides, keepers, seals) Custom forged pistons (oversized & dished for compression of 9:1...total seal rings, 15# oil rings) TWR (Tom Wilkinshaw Racing)Stroked Crankshaft High Nickel Barrels ("O" ringed, copper on top, silicone on bottom) Copper head gaskets Large capacity oil pump & big tube pick up Balanced and blueprinted • (2) TEC II Electomotive ignition systems (run as 2 six cylinders) • Custom bell housing (GTJ) • Twin Lysholm screw superchargers (Whipple) • Intake manifold, custom fabricated (Joe Conti, Conti Engineering) • Fuel rail (Joe Conti, Conti Engineering) • Performance fuel pump and fuel regualtor (Paxton) • Over-sized 2 7/8 inch throttle bodies (AJ6 Engineering) • Serpentine belt system (Joe Conti, Conti Engineering) • Custom lighpeed manual transmission • Leonard Long shifter • Custom shortened and balanced dirveshaft • 3.28:1 Rear-end drive • Front and rear over-sized high density anti-sway bars • Chrome moly shot-peened springs (GTJ) • Koni schock absorbers • 2" Stainless steel cat-back exhaust system (Falcon) • Hitachi AC compressor
