FW: [xj-s] The ubuiquitous overheating problem

Well, I wish I could say that I got my car back and I now can experience the
below the "N" readings that everyone else but me seems to be able to
achieve. Not!

Ok, the radiator was rodded out, I changed every water hose that exists on
the car, the stats were replaced and the timing is correct. When I picked
up the car I went to play in heavy traffic. Now, as most of you have heard,
it's hotter than hell in Dallas these days. 19+ days over 100+ degrees. I
am creeping slowly along in bumper to bumper traffic with the needle staying
just below the middle of the "N". Perfect, terrific, I'm a very happy
camper. I pull off the freeway to get gas. Shut the car down and fill up.
When I restart the car the temp guage reads just a hair over the "N". Back
into traffic I go and the needle stays exactly where it was, just above the
"N". I get off the freeway again and drive on sparsly traveled roads at
about a constant 30 - 40 mph and there is no change in the temp guage.
Still above the "N".

Now this is LIGHT YEARS better than it was before all the repairs (half way
between the "N" and "H" but still not what everyone else is reporting.
