[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] RE: [xj-s] Head Nut Washers
Yeah, sounds good. I re-used my 7/16 washers, cleaning up the faces on an oilstone first. I replaced the 3/8 ones with new washers. But you're right, the 7/16 ones are special, super-thick ones, and the 3/8 ones are standard thickness. Seems inconsistent in design to me. P'raps super thick 3/8 washers would be good if available. All of the 3/8" washers off my car are dished, and there is similar deformity around the holes on the head itself. I'll be looking for either a thicker set of washers, or a replacement set of nuts with a washer face to use WITH the original washers so that the force is applied over the entire area instead of at the ID. -- Kirbert | If anything is to be accomplished, | some rules must be broken. | - Palm's Postulate References:
