Well it is that time again to get emissions done on my XJ-S. One thing I have done on carburetored cars to help clean things up before going in for the test is to use a can of carburetor cleaner while the engine is running to help clean out all the gunk in the carburetor & intake system. Does anybody see a problem in applying this to the V12 HE? What I am thinking of doing is to take off the air filters, start the car & either doing 1 side at a time, or getting my wife to help, spray into the butterflies while giving it enough gas to keep running until the can had been emptied. Of course I will also be checking the plugs & all the other goodies. As my area uses the dynamometer where they drive the car on rollers, I do not need to play with the jumper in the trunk/boot. I just have to worry about the people jamming my hood after I show them how it latches. (Yes, you can show them & they still mess up) John Himes 88 XJ-S 114K Miles :-) Follow-Ups:
