I found on my '85 model that a couple of the fuel lines in the boot (held by 'jubilee' clips) had worked loose! tightened them up nad followed the pipes all the way to the fuel rail tightening every thing in sight which cured the problem, when I say the pipes were loose I don't mean fall off loose but certainly pull off able hope this helps Graeme Mawson '85 XJS V12
