Yes it did because it was connected to the exciter connection. On the lucas alternator this is the small stud with a nut on it to a small wire. The two large blasde connectors are the output terminals. The connector I was asking about was the blade connector on the back of the case near the side between the output te3rminal and the exciter stud.
