John Littler was asking about replaceing the A6 with a newer unit. Since you are planning a wrecking yard visit, go and look at later model GM V8s. If you see something other than the A6, find an earlier version of the same car, and see if it used the A6. If so, you are on to something. You will probably have to fabricate mounting plates, but, with any luck, the front of the compressor will mount in a similar manner to the A6. If so, you will only have to deal with the rear plate. Please let us know what you find.
