I just replaced my thermostats for the second time. My advice is to be very careful about selecting the proper thermostat. First time round went to Pep boys and got some new tstats that looked exactly like the originals. It wasn't until after puting them in water and looking at the amount of travel they open, and the amount of spring compliance on the back close off disc that I noticed they were different. They look identical, but they move differently. This is real important because that disc has to close off the cross over pipe properly. Went back and got some other tstats that looked the same but had the right amount of travel. You can check it by taking it out of the package and just forcing it thru the motions to check travel length etc. The reason I didn't just get jag originals from the dealer was that I wanted to get 180 degree tstats instead of 190. Made a big difference. Julian Mullaney
