Your situation sounds all too familiar to me.....Mine did the same thing.
Went through several upper radiator hoses until I had the radiator rodded
out. I guess the radiator just couldn't keep up with the flow and the hoses
seemed to be the weakest link in the chain.

By the way, I had my radiator rodded out one year and then the following
spring it appeared plugged again. Took it out again and brought it to the
shop and they said the stuff inside was like concrete. I ended up getting a
new core and it's been fine for a couple of years now.

If your still not convinced, follow Kirby's overheating/dropped valve seat
saga.....
