I've been wondering about this one, having to get the LHS head off 'cos of the blown gasket. I remember seeing a post a while back from someone suggesting putting rope in through the spark plug hole as a means to stop the engine rotating so he could undo the crank damper securing bolt..... Well what about doing same in say 1 and 6 , with the cam removed so all valves are shut and using this to force the head up. There would be a lot of torque available to do that. What are thoughts on risks, dangers, studidity of that idea?? Richard XJS-HE '83 (steam powered)
