Maybe relevant to the recent discussions on overheating, there is a "dual drive" water pump out there that incorporates an electric drive as well as the regular connection to the engine. The pump operates normally during regular driving, but below 1,500rpm, the pump engages the electrical drive to provide greater flow, and when the car is shut off, the pump switches to electric and continues to drive water through the engine for a time. That seems to make more sense to me than just running the fan after the car shuts down, especially if you're given to driving hard and stopping without much cool-down time. You can check out the pump at www.stewartcomponents.com --Steve Follow-Ups:
