A bad connection to the warning light - brown/black wire on back of alternator, voltage regulator going south, dead or dying diodes. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Isbell [SMTP:jisbelljr@mail.utexas.edu] Sent: Monday, July 06, 1998 11:01 AM To: xj-s@jag-lovers.org Subject: [xj-s] Alternator lights, what do they mean? I was driving to work this morning when I noticed the voltmeter indicating 12 volts. i.e.NO charging! But the red lights on the dash had dutifuly gone out after cranking the engine, indicating that all was well. Whats wrong that could cause no charge, but the red lights out?
