Brett, I with you guys, as I mentioned it to the shop, when I was looking to have my 88 Ford F-150 fixed. Like you said, It would seem to me to be so much easier to maintain. Also cheaper, as they are charging $50./ lb. for r-12 now. I hate going to these shops if I can do it on my own, but with r12, you can't buy it or work on the system unless you are a licensed mechanic and have all the proper equipment. I also understand that it can be a real health hazard (r12) if not handled properly. I am pretty much going to insist on switching over to r134a. If they don't want to do it, I will just have to look around further for someone. Frank 92vdp
