Vince: Thanks for the story. Having been born and raised in San Francisco proper, and driving all the same routes you mentioned, it brought back many fond memories. A big BTW here regarding boring Route 5....speeding is tricky on this road because it is patrolled by AIR. The CHP and Eric Estrada (no relation!) have lines painted across the freeway at intervals. Speeding cars are clocked by counting the number of seconds between lines...learned this from a trucker years ago as me and my girlfriend were flying down I5 at 85 MPH in a Spitfire. FWIW, every car loving person needs to at least once do the trip along Route 1 in California. Its the most fantastic road in the world (flame suit on). Magnificent cliffs, views, sunsets, redwood trees, and bikini clad woman like you see on US Television around the world (i.e. down in Southern Cal). Monterey & Carmel are breathtaking and my home town we simply call "The City" has been called the most beautiful in the world (flame suit on again). Its even better in a Jag, I would guess. All I had to do these roads in were my wonderful old Triumphs, MGs and Healeys....
