But the original post said the engine in testing now, not the final version for consumers. Manufacturers seldom put very highly stressed parts into production, they must be concerned with reliability and costs. The original XJ R engine was tested at over 350 HP, and different configurations react differently to the same type of modification. Typical supercharger installations on american V8 s produce 50 % more HP and slightly more torque. That would put Jag's engine at 450 HP. and the Jag is a very high tech engine that should produce more than an overhead valve american V8 Regards, Vic References:
