[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Circuit / sensor testing.
I recall a fairly recent post to the list regarding testing a sensor during normal operation of the vehicle by hooking up the sensor to a digital voltmeter and running the probe wires into the passenger compartment so that the meter response can be observed in the course of driving the car. The sensor, a thermistor I seem to recall, passed the static tests but would fail at some point during actual operation. I would be curious to monitor voltage / resistance changes in various ECU controlled circuits but I am not sure if there is a danger of putting a voltage spike through the ECU. Would any of the electronically competent out there care to offer the list their wisdom. Thanks for any input. Tony Gardner XJ6 Series III (1986)
