Maybe, the resistor is installed near the Temperature Sensor connector
on the water rail.
If Mr.Buja remembered my engine room, my explanation is correct?
I can't see the resistor, because this is bandaged with tape.
If I have a chance, i will serch this Next weekend.

My mechanic has a '84 XJ6.
He tried to repair his car by many way, replase Temperature Sensor,
or O2 Sensor, or etc. (Sorry I forgot.)
At last, he found this way.
