[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] XJ6 S1 bonnet heat shield/coolant recycling
Hello! First, I found out that here in Santa Barbara there are certain centers that accept all this nasty stuff (like coolant, acid, etc.) that some of us need to get rid of. I got a list from Kragen Auto Parts, but Pep Boys seems to also participate. At least here these stores accept limited amounts of the goo. There are also other places, as this one at UCSB. I will put some more info on my my web site next week. second, my bonnet heat shield (that dark asbestos/rock wool looking like thing under the hood) got wet and fell off last time I cleaned my engine bay. Does anyone know: how to attach this? Are 3M poster pads (that doublesided tape with a foam center) heat resistant enough, or is there any other kind of tape that i could use? Where can I buy a new one, at what cost and how much is shipping? Any/all suggestions greatfully accepted! Finally, thanks to the XJ6 Series 1 crowd, especially Messrs. Waite, Hesvik and Burlingame - it is nice to see that although the S1 does not get many postings the group is still alive and kicking!
