[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] List newbie and XJ6 info
>Also, does anyone know where I can get an owners manual for this car? Do = >you know of a good repair manual? Haynes doesn't help much:( >I appreciate any help you can give. >Thanks again.......Pat >1987 XJ6 >I'm a beginner!!= I have an 87 XJ6 too. I can tell from your post (...When I go to High Beam I lose both lights on the drivers side) that you have a four-eyed Series 3 XJ6. The most beautiful car for the money available today, IMHO. Be advised that 1987 was the last model year for the Series 3 XJ6 in the US. Jaguar also began selling the completely redesigned XJ6 (Jag Lovers call it the XJ40) in 1987. That means in future posts you need to tell everyone you have a *Series 3* 87 XJ6. I too was a newbie to this list four months ago. Its members have been a huge wellspring of information, reassurance and enjoyment. I have been wading through the archives and saving anything interesting about the Series 3 XJ6. In an attempt to help contribute to the list (since my mechanical knowledge is pretty inadequate for giving advice) I will gladly e-mail anyone a textfile containing the admittedly random but fascinating nuggets of XJ6 wisdom I have gleaned. E-mail me a request (its about 1 meg long) and the fil e is yours. Lastly, I can't rave enough about Gunnar's work in setting up the archive search service. You will find it on the truly excellent *Jag Web* site on the WWW, if you haven't been there yet. Stuart McDowall Seattle, USA 87 S3 XJ6 VDP
